Comment:
The media is systematically reporting that Putin's war started in 2022. The war started with a covert operation in Simferopol, Crimea in January 2014 by the Russian FSB. followed by an invasion of Ukraine via Crimea on February 24, 2014, to seize and annex the peninsula. The war has never ended since then. The period from February 24, 2022 to the present is just another episode. Russia never declares war as it didn't when it was the Soviet Union and invaded Afghanistan. In Ukraine, the Russians were either speaking about "military operation" or its variant "special military operation". They never used the word "war" in their rhetoric. This timeline is a response to Donald Trump's adoption of Putin's war propaganda. On February 19, 2025, he said that Zelensky started the war.
